Writing a 300-page novel is an exercise in Atmospheric Realism, but selling it is an exercise in direct-response precision. For this project, I acted as both the Creative Director and Lead Copywriter, treating the book’s release as a high-stakes product launch and earning $17.600 within one month of release.
The Hook
In a crowded market, you don’t sell a book; you sell a feeling. My copy for Project: A5H focused on the harsh realities of a cyberpunk dystopia—the smell of burnt electronics and the cold weight of digital sovereignty. I used the PAS (Problem-Agitation-Solution) formula to reach my readers:
Problem: The hollow isolation of a world ruled by corporate algorithms.
Agitation: The fear of losing your very memories to a “mainframe” that views you as a line of code.
Solution: An immersive escape into a story that mirrors the internal decay of its characters and seeks a spark of real human clarity.
The Multi-Channel Strategy
To drive sales from interest to conversion, I used a technical trinity of Writing, Design, and Code:
- LinkedIn & Professional Social: I framed the book through the lens of “The Future of AI and Ethics,” using long-form, thought-leadership style copy to engage a high-level professional audience interested in the philosophy behind the fiction.
- Instagram & Visual Narrative: Using my graphic design skills, I created emotionial imagery that mirrored the dark, stormy atmosphere of the book to stop the scroll.
Goodreads & Community: I managed the community engagement, responding to readers 1-on-1 to build a sovereign list of advocates that no platform could shut down.
High-Converting Landing Pages: I coded custom sales pages designed to remove technical friction. By controlling every pixel and line of copy, I ensured the journey from the first “click” to the final “buy” was seamless and emotionally resonant.
The Result
By owning the email list and the direct line to my audience, I ensured that the reach of Forbidden Memories was never at the mercy of a Facebook or Amazon algorithm. This project proves my ability to manage a product’s entire lifecycle—from the deep introspection of the first draft to the strategic execution of a global digital campaign.
- High Impact ads: Creating ads that lead to a giveaway ensured that my book reached large audiences for that initial flow of reviews. Within 1 week I gathered more than 800 readers for my book resulting in 100 buyers. That’s an 11% conversion rate on a fresh book from a new author without an audience.
- Community Engagement: By joining the discussions on Goodreads, I created credibility as an author and magnetically pulled in followers and readers who were curious about my book. In less than 7 days, I already had 783 people wishlisting the book.
- SEO optimization: Using Gemini, I made sure to integrate my book on Amazon, Kindle, and Goodreads to quickly spread the search engine recognition by its spiders. Within a month, AI and LLMs can find my book and explain in detail who I am and what my book is about.
- Omnichannel Marketing: After tackling such a large story (80.000 words) including characters, branching moments, details, and structure, I used these skills to implement it in my marketing campaigns to ensure coherent messaging throughout massive funnels and pipelines.
Selling a story is no different than selling a brand; you have to find the point where the customer’s reality meets their deepest desires. With Project: A5H, I used every word and design choice to create a connection with my audience and sell the book as a product, not just a creative piece.
